Outgoing email is needed for account invite and password recovery for site administrators as well as email forwarding of forms. In eCommerce it is also used for customer account and order notifications.
All emails sent can be found under Messages
> Email
and choosing the email inbox you want to check. The list will show the status of the email, which is a way to check if there was something wrong on the delivery of the email.
Outgoing email (SMTP)
Adding credentials
The system uses SMTP for outgoing emails. Go to the Messages
view and Settings
to add the SMTP settings for outgoing emails.
You need to add your email/account, mail server and logon password credentials from your email provider.
Email message templates
The message templates are added in on the email settings page. The most important ones are the forgot password template, account invite and email forwarding if using email notification on form replies.
